OSRS Ironman Farming Guide (1–99)
Farming on Ironman fuels Herblore, Cooking, Crafting and more. Prioritize usefulness over XP alone.
Levels 1–15: Potatoes, Onions, Cabbages
- Use allotment patches: Falador, Catherby, Ardougne, and Canifis (after quest).
- Plant
potatoes, onions, cabbages — free XP and beginner food.
- Watering cans help XP gain; compost reduces death chance.
Levels 15–31: Oak Trees & Low Herbs
- Start planting
Guam, Marrentill herbs — use in early Herblore training.
- Tree patches: Oak trees for decent XP and early tree farming unlocks.
- Unlock POH teleport or Rings of Dueling to move faster between trees.
Levels 31–45: Willow Trees & Useful Herbs
- Continue planting herbs like
Tarronmin, Harralander, Ranarr if available.
- Willow trees (fast and cheap), Curry trees if you have seeds.
- Start planting Ranarr when possible — key for Prayer potions (Herblore).
Levels 45–70: Fruit Trees, Ranarr, Limpwurt, Watermelons
- Farm
Ranarr for Prayer pots, Limpwurt roots for Strength pots.
- Fruit trees: Apple, Banana, Orange — low effort, solid XP.
- Watermelon allotments give
Supercompost when rotted.
Levels 70–99: Magic Trees, High-Level Herbs, Calquat & Cactus
- Plant Magic Trees and Palm Trees when available (slow but good XP).
- Continue herbs:
Snapdragon, Cadantine, Dwarf Weed, Torstol.
- Plant
Cactus for free spines (used in Herblore + Crafting).
- Calquat Trees (Tai Bwo Wannai) = big XP drops.
Farming Patch Access Tips
- Use Explorer’s ring for Falador patch
- Ardougne cloak → Ardougne patch
- Ectophial → Canifis patch
- Charter ship or POH for Catherby patch
- Spirit Trees + Fairy Rings = huge time saver later
Useful Ironman Seed Sources
- Master Farmers – consistent herb/allotment seed supply
- Bird nests – tree/fruit seeds (train WC and use Kingdom of Miscellania!)
- Slayer drops (Jellies, Kurasks, etc.)
- Farming Contracts (after 45+ Farming and Hosidius favor)
Bonus: Herblore & Cooking Synergy
- Use all Ranarr → Prayer potions when you unlock Snape grass farming.
- Grow
Sweetcorn, Watermelon for early food or compost
- Use
Limpwurt for Strength pots (and weapon poison later)
