OSRS Ironman Firemaking Guide (1–99)
Chop your own logs. Burn for XP. Prepare for Wintertodt or stick to the flame grind.
🪵 Bank Your Logs!
- This guide assumes you're training Woodcutting and banking logs along the way.
- Don't burn them as you go unless you're tight on space — stack them for batches.
- Most Ironmen use Willows or Maples for the main grind due to efficiency.
Levels 1–15: Regular Logs
- Burn 61 regular logs (40 XP each) to reach 15.
- Chop from any tree near Lumbridge, Draynor, or Varrock.
Levels 15–30: Oak Logs
- Burn about 183 oak logs (60 XP each).
- Best chopped east of Draynor or south of Varrock.
- Good to stack these early if you’re aiming for Construction later too.
Levels 30–50: Willow Logs
- Burn about 1,571 willow logs (90 XP each).
- Chop in Draynor Village, Seers’ Village, or south of Rimmington.
- Consider using all willows for Cooking fire locations too.
Levels 50–99: Options
- Option A: Burn Logs (Traditional)
- Use Maple logs if doing Kingdom or Training at Seers’ Village
- 134,000+ maple logs to reach 99 this way (~150 XP each)
- Consider doing Teak logs if Woodcutting jungle
- Option B: Wintertodt (Highly Recommended)
- Unlock with Wintertodt at level 50
- Very fast XP, passive Herblore, Crafting, Construction XP, and supply drops
- Safe for Ironmen — just bring warm gear & food
- ~50–70 Wintertodt games = 99 Firemaking

Normal logs: 40 XP
Oak logs: 60 XP
Willow logs: 90 XP
Maple logs: 135 XP
Yew logs: 202.5 XP
Magic logs: 303.8 XP
🔥 Firemaking Tips for Ironmen
- Chop and bank logs whenever AFKing Woodcutting
- Do Kingdom of Miscellania for passive Maple log gain
- Use Firelighter scrolls from clue rewards for colorful logs if desired
- Stack logs in
25s or 27s for smooth lines with minimal clicks
