OSRS Ironman Herblore Guide (1–99)
Use your own herbs, drops, and secondaries — no trading, no shortcuts.
Start Here: Quests for Herblore XP
- Druidic Ritual – Unlocks the skill
- Priest in Peril, Jungle Potion, Shilo Village – All give XP and access to useful areas
- The Dig Site – 2k XP
- Fairytale Part I – Useful for farming & herb patches
Levels 3–15: Guam + Eye of Newt → Attack Potions
- Farm or loot Guam leaves
- Buy Eye of Newt from herblore shops (Port Sarim, Taverley)
- Create
Attack potions until 15
Levels 15–26: Marrentill or Tarromin → Anti-poison/Energy
- Farm Marrentill or kill Chaos Druids for herbs
- Use Unicorn horns for Antipoison
- Or use Chocolate dust for Energy potions
Levels 26–38: Harralander → Strength Potions
- Use Limpwurt roots (grown in Farming)
- Make
Strength potions — great early PvM boost
- Bank some for bossing
Levels 38–55: Ranarr → Prayer Potions
- One of the most valuable potions for Ironmen
- Farm Ranarr and gather Snape grass (Fremennik or farm it later)
- Train Farming and Herblore side by side
Levels 55–69: Kwuarms, Avantoes, Snapdragons
- Kwuarms → Super Strength (Limpwurt)
- Avantoes → Fishing potions (useful later)
- Snapdragons → Super Restore (with Red spider eggs)
- All dropped by Slayer monsters or grown yourself
Levels 69–85: Higher Level Potions
- Dwarf Weed → Ranging potions (with Wine of Zamorak)
- Cadantine → Super Defence
- Herbs dropped by Slayer, bosses, or grown
- Red spider eggs, white berries, etc. can be collected in Karamja, Varrock Sewers, etc.
Levels 85–99: Torstol, Saradomin Brew, Overloads (if unlocked)
- Torstol → Zamorak Brews, Super Combats
- Saradomin Brews → good for PvM, if you farm Toadflax
- If you unlock Overloads (via raids), Herblore remains useful past 99
Herblore Supplies for Ironmen
- Seeds: From Farming, Slayer, Master Farmers
- Secondaries:
- Snape Grass – spawn or farm
- Unicorn Horn – from Unicorns east of Varrock or Ardougne Zoo
- Red Spider Eggs – Varrock Sewers
- Bird nests – Kingdom of Miscellania (Crushed nests for Brews)
- Chocolate dust, Limpwurt, White berries, etc.
